Author Sara Sheridan came to a retro tea party at Mayfair Library on Tuesday 27 May.
Over cups of tea and Battenburg cake we enjoyed listening to tales of her Scottish childhood as a misunderstood seven year old and how she left her job as office administrator on impulse to write a book, ‘Truth or Dare’, which went on to be included in the top 100 Scottish books of all time. A wise decision in retrospect! She talked about her Mirabelle Bevan Mysteries – written in the ‘cosy crime noir’ genre – her very own genre creation. A really lovely, entertaining and funny woman.
Mayfair Library was recommended to Sara by The Historical Writer’s Association as one of the best libraries to hold events in. All those wanting us to host an event – line up here!
