Twinning update

Christmas in Paris

Please forgive us for showing Christmas decorations after Twelfth Night! This is an example of the photographs that were sent to Church Street Library from Bibliotheque Place des Fetes in Paris as part of the library twinning project.

As you can see, Paris is, as much as London, a vibrant city when Christmas time comes. Many shops, such as le BHV and les Galeries Lafayette displayed wonderful objects and colours for the joy of all Parisians and numerous tourists. Paris streets were also beautifully decorated, particularly city halls and major city squares.

In exchange, Church Street Library sent photos of Christmas and New Year’s decorations in London to our friends across the Channel: Selfridges, Marks and Spencer, Harrods, Camden Market and Oxford Street all featured and have been displayed in the Paris library.

We are now moving on to the subject of food and cooking, with recipe exchanges and displays coming up in the next month.
