Creepy Days and Soho Nights

Mike BelgraveCharing Cross Library has been delighting both children and adults in recent events:

Our final Summer Reading Challenge event saw children (and parents and staff) hysterical with laughter when Mike Belgrave, entertainer extraordinaire, paid us a visit. He was brilliantly silly – it was a lovely reward for those who had been busy reading books over the summer.

The Creepy House-themed Challenge was very popular this year at Charing Cross and over 130 children joined in, beating last year’s total by a comfortable margin.

And for adults:
Coventry Street, SohoMore than fifty people experienced ‘One Night in Soho’ last week and were treated to a mix of poetry and prose, history, salacious gossip and risqué anecdotes by Blacktooth Productions. We learnt of the many interesting, famous and infamous people who have lived in or frequented Soho.

Some comments from those who attended: “A really enjoyable evening”, “Fascinating”, “More please!”
