“God Save the Queen!”

Maida Vale Library recently celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Coronation by running a number of royal themed half-term events. Last Saturday the Area Manager, Ben, presented prizes to winners and runners up in the “Our Queen Art and Story competition”.

Every child who entered was also given a commemorative certificate for taking part. All of the entrants have had their work displayed in the library and the original pieces of art have been sent to Buckingham Palace for Her Majesty to look at.

Royal souvenir prizes were picked up in person by Halah and Maryam, with runner up royal commemorative badges being awarded to Ayoka, David and Jayden who are pictured here.

We do hope that The Queen will enjoy them as much as we have. We’re all waiting with bated breath for her reply to our letter. Watch this space…
