Brilliant Britain! Or should it be Bonkers Britain?

Brilliant Britain by Jane PeytonAuthor of Brilliant Britain, Jane Peyton talked to a crowd of Brits, Americans, Brazilians and Chinese in Mayfair Library this week and revealed all our secrets! Displayed for all to see were our strange customs: a game of cricket on a sand bar which lasts only 45 minutes before the tide turns – but at least everyone has time for a beer; Morris Dancing – after a beer; Bog snorkelling – followed by a beer.

Our customs seem to involve drinking a lot of beer, lots of dressing up and then doing something a little strange – perhaps dancing or running after cheese.

There is another chance to see Jane’s great photos and hear all the other weird and rather wonderful things the Brits get up to, at Charing Cross Library on 23 June [more info]. She’ll be visiting as part of the Love Charing Cross Road Festival – don’t miss it!
