Horribly Happy Half-term Happening…

… at St. John’s Wood Children’s Library.

Horrible Histories competition

Earlier this week our children’s library was full to bursting with eager kids aged 7 to 11, taking part in our special Horrible Histories quiz and craft event.

For a warm up to keep everyone busy whilst we organised teams, we had a go at making colourful Roman style mosaics.

Then we  put everyone in teams: the Emperors versus the Pharoahs. For 3 tense rounds the teams answered questions on Roman history, Greek history and British history before the final scores were added, and …. The Emperors won!

We put all the Emperors’ names into a bag, and Michelle, our special guest who’s a librarian from Boston, drew the winner!

It’s M. who’s in year 7 from Quinton Kynaston School. Her prize is a Family Ticket admitting 4 to the Horrible Histories show at the Garrick theatre, generously donated by Birmingham Stage Company. Well done to everybody who took part – you can have a chance to win too!
