Going Dutch at Paddington Library

The Dutch author Arnold Jansen op de Haar launched his recently published novel, Angel, at a Reading Group meeting in Paddington Library.

Arnold explained why foreign language authors find it so important to have work translated in to English and read extracts from his text. The novel is partly set in London – for example, one chapter is headed Bayswater Blues.

The novel is published by Holland Park Press, run by Arnold’s sister Bernadette, who translated the book from Dutch to English.

Arnold signed copies of his book followed by drinks all around!

The next meeting of the Reading Group is on 18 November, and we’ll be discussing fairy tales and children’s books.
